CSTT Newsletter - April 19, 2012

Dear colleagues,

the Centre for Sustainable Tourism and Transport of NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences would like to make the following announcements.

Impact recession on holiday emissions already over - New (free) CSTT report
The decrease in carbon dioxide emissions of Dutch holidaymakers in 2009 has not continued in 2010. Total holiday emissions are almost back at the 2008 level, and have increased by over 19% since 2002. These are some of the key results of 'Travelling large in 2010', the new CSTT report on the carbon footprint of Dutch holidaymakers. As opposed to last year's edition, this report is free! Download here.

Emerald 2012 Outstanding Author Contribution Award to Paul Peeters
Paul Peeters has received the 2012 Outstanding Author Contribution Award from the Emerald Group Publishing Limited for his book chapter "Transport technology, tourism and climate change" in Volume 3 of the book series Bridging Tourism Theory and Practice ("Tourism and the Implications of Climate Change: Issues and Actions").
