|Education:||Dineke has a Master in Asian History (University of Amsterdam, UvA) and also gained her PhD at UvA, at the Faculty of Humanities. Her PhD thesis was titled "Tourism in China: Representing the nation to English speaking tourists".|
|Career:||Dineke joined Breda University of Applied Sciences after working for several tour operators specialising in tours to Asia. At BUas she has taught and developed courses on the tourist experience, tour guiding, interpretation, storytelling and cross-cultural communication as well as on world history, geography and tourism history. She is involved in the International Research Forum on Guided Tours, a mobile platform for research on all dimensions of guided tours such as new technologies, mobility, creating experiences, interpretation of heritage.|
Next to her work at BUas, Dineke works as a curator and consultant for cultural exchange projects between Europe and China in the field of contemporary performing arts.
In her academic research, Dineke focuses on several aspects of Chinese tourism, on the impact of tourism on the city of Amsterdam, and on tour guiding and the interpretation of heritage.
